No one will get him unless the demands are decreased or he expands his team. To be fair, statistic wise, he is nearly identical to Vanek, and no one would trade a 1st, a conditional, a goalie, and a top prospect for Vanek. Just sayin. |

I wonder if the rumoured Grabovski to Calgary rumour, for a first rounder plays into this? That would be two decent first rounders for Nash, plus a couple of roster players or prospects. It should prove interesting. |

Even if you defend Nash as a top forward in this league, which he can be but has not been this season, 7.8 million a year is a lot to absorb at this time of the year. I don't think he will be moved until the draft or even July, when his preferred list of teams have more options to move out salary. Unless Columbus is willing to take on some bad salary, which i doubt they would.
We're more likely to see them ship out huselius tomorrow and Nash over the summer. And while i'm talking about this, why would Columbus even be asking for dmen? They have Wis, JMFJ, Tyutin, Nikitin as their top four with Methot, Moore, and a couple other dmen on the roster (even tho methot is injured right now). That may not be the best defense in the league, but it is certainly servicable. They need forwards and a starting goalie more than a guy like McDonaugh or DelZotto. |

I agree 100% The teams he listed are very much teams you need chemistry with.. especially the NYR and Leafs. How do you trade 5 years of your future plus a roster player or two and expect to hold fast. He'll get traded during the off season unless something drastic happens. |

I still don't think anyone is going to give Columbus what they want for Nash. Nash has already said he's not going to increase his list of acceptable teams, and reports have pretty much said all the teams in the acceptable list have walked away from Howson because he's asking for too much for a VASTLY overpaid player. |

I hope the Rangers are out.
Since when are 65 point scorers who make 7.8 million a year worth 55 point scorers, 2 NHL-ready prospects, and a 1st round pick.

Serious question: Will Howson even have a job after the season? After all, he engineered the Carter disaster before this year and none of his various moves have really panned out. If that's the case, why let a guy whose job could be in serious jeopardy engineer another trade that will forever alter the orbit of the franchise? |

Disagree
Columbus' first priority should be looking for a quality young GOALIE. Build from the back - up. Columbus really hasn't had many solid defensemen in its existence and I don't include Jack Johnson as a solid defenseman.
Kadri? Columbus needs to pass on that dude.

If the Rags get him, which I hope they do to disrupt chemistry, it won't be for that. MDZ or Mcdonugh will be in there. |
